Our window of opportunity for affecting this legislation isn’t very big. So we need to shout really loud while we’ve got the chance to make a difference. And we need help from everyone.
The fastest way you can make a difference is to follow this list.
1. Sign our thirty second petition. It’s to ask the Welsh Assembly to implement a bill to enshrine the public access to land and water. Sign the petition here
2. Raise the issue with others, especially politicians or local councillors. Don’t be surprised if they don’t think there is an issue.
We have email templates for you to send out to fellow paddlers, friends, family and collegues available here.
We provide advice for writing to politicians here
3. Consider becoming a WCA access supporter: http://www.welsh-canoeing.org.uk/access/access_not_process.htm
Also, you might like to buy a ‘Canoeing is not a crime’ or ‘Kayaking is not a crime’ t-shirt or sticker. We make a small amount of money from them to put back into access causes, and they’re a great way to raise the issue with people who don’t know about it. http://www.paddlingtees.co.uk/shop/wca/
